Holmfirth Town Centre - Rotcher Road
As part of the ongoing Town improvement works in Holmfirth centre, you may have noticed changes to traffic and pedestrian access near the bottom of Rotcher Road.
Vehicles can now only turn left onto Hollowgate from Rotcher Road. It is no longer possible to turn right into the town centre from this junction.
For pedestrians, the area of Hollowgate directly opposite the bottom of Rotcher Road has been cordoned off. Pedestrians can now only:
• Turn left to walk along Hollowgate, or
• Turn right past the Kirkwood Hospice shop and the old Barclays Bank building, then cross Dunford Road to access the zebra crossing outside Kaye’s Ironmongers, to access the town centre.
We have spoken to children in Years 5 and 6 about road safety, especially for those who walk home alone. We kindly ask parents of these children to assess the route yourselves, and reinforce this message at home.
Children in Year 4 and below should continue to be collected from school by an adult.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our children safe.
Kind regards,
Mr Rose and Mr Warrener
