🐣 Hop Around Holmfirth Egg Hunt Returns for Easter 2026! 🐣

A much-loved family event is hopping back into Holmfirth this Easter, bringing two weeks of outdoor adventure, community spirit and independent shopping.

Running throughout the Easter holidays from 28th March – 12th April 2026, the Hop Around Holmfirth Egg Hunt invites families to explore the town, surrounding villages and beautiful nature walks while searching for hidden eggs.

The event is completely free to take part in and was created to encourage families to get outdoors, enjoy the fresh air and explore the stunning countryside around Holmfirth.

Last year’s event saw an incredible response from the community, with parents sharing how their children were “begging to go for walks” and excited to explore new places while hunting for eggs.

This year, eggs will be hidden around Holmfirth and the surrounding villages, encouraging families to discover scenic walking routes, hidden corners and the beautiful nature that makes the area so special.

When children find an egg, they can swap it with a participating independent business in Holmfirth for a prize, bringing families back into town to enjoy everything the local shops, cafés and businesses have to offer.

✨ New for 2026 – Adults can join the fun too!
While the main egg hunt is designed for children, adults are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for a limited number of wooden hens hidden around town. These are part of a separate grown-up trail linked with some of Holmfirth’s fabulous local bars.

The event is made possible thanks to the collaboration of independent businesses across Holmfirth, working together to create a fun, community-led activity for families during the Easter holidays.

Visitors are encouraged to make a day of it — explore the beautiful outdoors, wander through the town and pop into the amazing independent businesses along the way.

Because every little bit of support matters.

Whether it’s a coffee, a card for Auntie Doris, a slice of cake, or even a candle tucked away for a future gift — it all helps support the local independents that keep Holmfirth thriving.
